WEATHER WARNING UPDATE

January 7, 2014

WHITLEY COUNTY -- Whitley County Commissioners, Columbia City Mayor, Whitley County Emergency Management and Whitley County Sheriff's Department have issued the following statement concerning travel within our county.

A “WATCH Level 2 Travel Advisory” has been issued at 5 p.m. until further notice.

A Watch level advisory may be declared when conditions threatening to the safety of the public.

Only essential travel is recommended (i.e. to and from work, emergency situations, etc). At this level, emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.

Roadways are snow covered and slick with blowing and drifting snow throughout the county at this time. Caution should be taken when traveling throughout the county.
