PIERCETON â€” Whitko Community school board members and administration breathed a sigh of relief as the date of July 18 came and went.
That was the deadline in a 30-day window in which objections to the $22 million projected construction plan could be voiced.
Whitko Community School Corporation held a 1028 hearing June 17 to explain in detail the desire of the district to build a new Pierceton Elementary School and extensively renovate South Whitley Elementary School.
â€śWCSC announces its plans to move forward with the renovations and construction plans,â€ť said Superintendent Steve Clason in a press release released this week. â€śThe board held the hearing and we waited the 30 days for any objections. Now, with those days passed, the community will begin the planning phase of the project.â€ť
