The Lady Wildcats track team hosted and beat the visiting Rochester Thursday by a score of 83-47.
In the 100-meter low hurdles, Micaela Sylvester placed first with a time of 17.3 seconds, and was followed in second by Reghan Craig at 18.2. Sylvester also won the 300-meter hurdles, coming in at 52.5, three seconds ahead of second place Lady Wildcat Reghan Craig.
Kelsey Boggs finished first in both the 100 and 200-meter races, with times of 13.2 and 27.2, respectively. Josie Sparks finished second in the 200 (27.3), while Elaine Warner finished third in the 100 (13.6). Sparks then won the 400-meter at 1:03.6. Teammate Delaney Ray finished third (1:10.2).
Whitko placed one runner in the 3200, Melanie Kelsey, whose 14:24 was good for second place.
In other individual running, Holly Frantz got second place in the 800-meter (2:44.1) and Kelsey finished third in the 1600 (6:18.5). The team of Frantaz, Sparks, Miranda Terrill and Elaine Warner won the 1600-meter relay. Boggs, Sylvester, Sammy Klerner and Cagney Craig won the 400-meter relay.
In the high jump, Lady Wildcats took all top-three finishes. Terrill came in first at 5‚Äô0, followed by Warner at 4‚Äô6‚ÄĚ and Delaney Ray at 4‚Äô4‚ÄĚ.
Whitko‚Äôs Dana Hobbs launched the shot put 29‚Äô 11-3/4, good enough for first place and three feet farther than third place finisher and teammate, Autumn Bolinger.
Hobbs also won the disc, tossing it 65‚Äô3‚ÄĚ. Stephanie Wheeler came in third at 65‚Äô 2-1/2‚ÄĚ. Finally, in the long jump, Reghan Craig finished second (14‚Äô 10-1/2‚ÄĚ) and Cagney Craig finished third (13‚Äô 9-1/2‚ÄĚ).
