Whitko golf suffers narrow loss

May 1, 2014

Whitko’s golf team traveled to Rochester Wednesday night to take on two Three Rivers Conference opponents, North Miami and Rochester.

The Wildcats split the match, beating North Miami and falling by three strokes to Rochester.

North Miami did not post a complete score. The Wildcats were led by Danny Zawlocki who scored a 41.

Cole Bechtold was one stroke behind his teammate with a 42, and Will Peters finished in 43 strokes.

Going by the top three scorers, Whitko had a lead on Rochester. It was the final two places that made the difference, as all of Rochester’s scores were below 50, and Whitko’s remaining two linksters shot a 53 and 57.

Whitko golf is back in action at the Wawasee Invitational Saturday.
