Whitko’s Craig receives all-state recognition

SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko senior Cagney Craig closed her career with a string of honors — and the biggest one was announced recently.

Craig was named honorable mention to the Indiana All-State Senior Basketball Team as selected by the IBCA.

“Next to making the Indiana All-Star team, this might be the highest acknowledgement for a basketball player in Indiana,” said Whitko girls basketball coach Brandon Bradley.

Craig was also named first team for the Three Rivers Conference this season.

Darby Maggard, a Whitley County resident who helped lead Fort Wayne Canterbury to a state title, was also named honorable mention for the all-state team.

Maggard was selected to the underclassmen honorable mention team.

Chandler Blake, of Churubusco, was selected honorable mention for the Academic All-State Girls Basketball Team.

The academic all-state team was chosen by ICGSA.
