Whitko’s Gensch to play baseball at Grace

April 27, 2012

WINONA LAKE — Grace’s baseball team has announced the signing of Whitko High School’s Richard “Wes” Gensch for the 2012-13 season.

Gensch has been a central member of Whitko’s roster the past four years as a pitcher and first baseman.

The 6-foot-3 high school senior was named Academic All-Conference in 2010 and 2011. He was also Whitko’s Most Improved Player as a junior.

“I felt like Grace was where God wanted me to be,” Gensch said.
“I want to continue developing my pitching skills and help the Grace program succeed. I am excited to play baseball for Grace this fall.”

Outside of baseball, Gensch has also been involved in the Whitley County Youth Leadership Program.

Gensch, who is the son of Rick and Mary Helen Gensch, intends to major in business administration while at Grace.
