SOUTH WHITLEY â€” Whitkoâ€™s softball team grabbed a Three Rivers Conference win Wednesday night against Tippecanoe Valley, 9-1.
Though the Lady Vikings scored the first run of the game in the first inning, Tippy Valley didnâ€™t cross home plate for the rest of the game.
Whitko, on the other hand, scored nine runs in the third and fourth innings. Karissa Olinske and Hannah Cokl scored two runs apiece.
Audra Day, Hannah Himes, Aly Nicodemus and Emily Weigold each added a run as well.
Olinske pitched all seven innings with nine strikeouts, one walk and gave up seven hits.
Against South Side
The Lady Wildcats pummeled South Side Tuesday night, winning 21-1.
Whitko scored nine runs in the first inning. Olinske and Day each had two in the first frame. Olinske led the team with four on the night. Day and Cokl each had three runs apiece.
The Lady Wildcats continued their pounding in the second inning, tacking on another six runs to make the score 15-0.
In the third frame, Whitko tallied another six runs, and South Side found home plate for the first and only time on the night to make the final score 21-1 on the game shortened by the 10-run-rule in the fourth inning.View more articles in:
