Whitko softball had busy week of games

May 12, 2014

Whitko’s softball team traveled to Tippecanoe Valley for an invitational last week.

The Lady Wildcats went 0-2 on the day, falling to the hosts and to a strong Concordia team.

However, the Lady Wildcats came back to beat Tippecanoe Valley last Monday, 8-0.

In the tournament opener, the Lady Wildcats fell 20-4 to Fort Wayne Concordia.

Maddie Gawthrop led the offense, getting on base twice with a single and a walk. She scored one run and had two stolen bases.

In the second game of the invite, Whitko fell to the hosts in a close 11-10 match-up.

The Lady Wildcats jumped out to an early lead, but Tippecanoe Valley fought back and won on a game-ending two-run home run.
