Whitko wins TRC four-way

WABASH — Whitko’s boys and girls track teams both won a four-way meet against Three Rivers Conference foes Manchester, Northfield and Lakeland Tuesday at Northfield.

The boys are now 5-0 in the TRC, collecting 116 points over Manchester (75.5), Northfield (43.5) and Lakeland Christian (4).

Trapper Mize won both the 800- and 1600-meter runs. Derek Snep won the shot put, Alec Wilkinson took first in the pole vault, Brady Herendeen won the long jump and Brandon Nettrouer led the 400-meter dash.

The Wildcats took second through fourth places in the discus led by Alex Smith with a heave of 124-feet 4-inches. The boys took first in the 1600- and 3200-meter relay events.

The girls scored 95 points over Manchester (72), Northfield (41) and Lakeland Christian (36).

Sydney Sims won the pole vault, followed by teammates Cagney and Reghan Craig, who placed second and third, respectively.

Holly Frantz won the 800-meter run, Miranda Terrill took first in the high jump and Micaela Sylvester led the 300-meter hurdles. Sylvester also placed third in the 100 hurdles.

Josie Sparks got second in the 200- and 400-meter dash. Dana Hobbs placed second in the shot put and third in the discus.

Taylor Zwick got second in the discus. The 1600-meter relay team of Zwick, Terrill, Sparks and Frantz took first with a time of 4:25.00.
