Whitley Co. track teams move relayers forward

All three Whitley County boys’ track teams will be sending both individuals and relay teams to next Thursday’s IHSAA Marion Regional competition by virtue of their top four finishes at Thursday night’s Sectional meets.

Columbia City and Whitko teams competed at the Wayne High School Sectional, while the Churubusco Eagles traveled to Fort Wayne North Side for their meet.

Homestead took the team crown at Wayne with Whitko placing fifth and the Columbia City boys taking sixth, while Churubusco claimed sixth place at North Side.

By virtue of top four finishes Whitko will advance individuals in four individual events and one relay team.

Columbia City will send one individual and two relay teams on to regional competition.

Churubusco qualified three individuals and two relay teams to go to Marion.

Columbia City started the meet at Wayne with a great tactical effort in the 3200 meter relay.
