SOUTH WHITLEY — The Whitko Wildcat boys soccer team closed out the home portion of its regular season schedule Tuesday night in what Head Coach Jason Ehrman described as “making it too easy” for Prairie Heights.
The end result was a 6-2 Panther win to improve to 8-6-1, while the Wildcats fell to 2-11-1.
Whitko opened up with a 1-0 lead on a Daniel Kirkham goal at the 26:38 mark, but the Panthers responded with five unanswered goals.
“They are a very good team that is well coached. With experienced players at key positions, they know what they want to do and they execute very well,” said Ehrman.
Following the initial Wildcat goal, the Panthers needed just 53 seconds to knot the score on a goal from sophomore Enrique Castro, assisted by senior Christian Granados.
Prairie Heights managed three more score in the first half including a second goal by the duo of Castro, assisted by Granados. Sandwiched between the two goals were Panther goals from Marco Faltermeier and freshman Xavier Kain.
