Wildcats’ baseball reaches end of road

June 2, 2014

NorthWood’s baseball team rallied from behind for the second time this sectional season to edge Whitko Saturday afternoon in South Whitley, 11-6.

Thursday, NorthWood posted a 10-run inning to top Tippecanoe Valley and advance to Saturday’s semi-final game against Whitko.

It was the lucky number seven against Whitko, as the Panthers scored seven runs in the seventh inning to sweep the win out from under the Wildcats’ feet.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first frame, Whitko’s Zach Snep knocked a solo home run over the fence to tie the score.
