Wildcats look to maintain momentum

September 19, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s football team is on a two-game winning streak and hopes to keep the trend going Friday.

The Wildcats sit in a tie with Rochester at 2-0 atop the Three Rivers Conference. At 2-2 overall, Whitko will hit the road to take on Wabash Friday with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

Whitko rolled over Manchester 46-24 last week. The Apaches, who are winless on the year, lost last week to North Miami 21-0.

The Wildcats have the edge in the rivalry with the Apaches. Whitko had a 51-19 win last year, and has not lost to Wabash since the rivalry became annual in 2006.

Offensively, Whitko lit it up last week. Ethan Nicodemus, The Post & Mail’s Athlete of the Week, had more than 200 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns, three through the air and two on the ground.
