Wildcats look to win home opener

September 12, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY — After starting 2013 0-2, Whitko’s football team found the win column last week by defeating Southwood.

Now, the Wildcats are looking to make it a winning streak against Manchester this week.

With conference play now in full swing, Whitko welcomes Three Rivers Conference-rival Manchester to South Whitley for its home opener.

Through a scheduling quirk, the Wildcats played their first three games of the year on the road.

But Whitko will be home more often than not the rest of the way, as four of the final six contests will be at home.

The Wildcats beat Southwood last week by a final of 41-35.

Manchester lost last week to Tippecanoe Valley 58-43, and is winless so far on the year.

The Squires were victorious when the two teams took the field last year by a 13-10 margin.
