William Kimmel, 80

William L. Kimmel, 80, a resident of rural Churubusco in Allen County, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the emergency room at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn.
He was born in Noble County May 14, 1930, a son of George A. and Effa (Owen) Kimmel. He served with the United States Army.
The surviving relatives include his wife, Bonnie L. Leazier; four daughters, Lee Ann Schortgen, Lisa Nicole, Lynn Patrick and Lori Krueckeberg; three sisters, Barbara Rider, Midge Marshall and Lalia Hand.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Pastor Samuel J. Norris, officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment with military graveside rites will be at Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
