WINDY WORK: Panel update on wind ordinance 'aired'

April 18, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — As expected, about the only discussion regarding the wind issue with the Whitley County Board of Commissioners Monday was that there would be no discussion regarding the wind issue; not yet, at least.
Whitley County joint Building and Planning Director Dave Sewell was on hand at Monday’s meeting to deliver and “certify” a copy of the proposed ordinance change for zoning, as it pertains to wind energy conversion systems.
Sewell explained that all of the proper and required steps to this point had been taken.
“As you’re aware, with your assistance commissioners, we (Whitley County Plan Commission) had a consultant do a wind analysis for us,” Sewell said.

A complete report on this session appears in the Wednesday, April 18 Post & Mail print and e-editions.
