WINTER STORM WEDNESDAY: What you can expect

WHITLEY COUNTY (March 11, 2014) Whitley County Emergency Management Agency is warning residents to beware of winter weather moving into the area tonight.

The county is under a Winter Storm Watch through Wednesday afternoon.

Rain is expected to fall later this afternoon and early evening. That will change to snow during the early morning hours Wednesday. Snow is expected to continue throughout the day, but should taper off by the afternoon.

Accumulation is estimated to be from 4 to 8 inches. Heaving snowfall at times is anticipated at a rate of an inch per hour. In addition, gusting winds will move through at 25 to 35 mph and will make for difficulty visibility and travel conditions.
