RECIPE OF THE WEEK: Cheddar chowder

Cheddar Chowder
2 c. boiling water
2 c. potatoes, diced
1/2 c. carrots, sliced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. margarine
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 c. ham, chopped

Cover vegetables with boiling water and simmer for 10 minutes. Make white sauce with margarine, flour, milk, salt and pepper. Add cheese, ham and undrained vegetables. Heat together, but do not boil.
