COLUMBIA CITY — Runners took their marks Saturday for the 5K Walk/Run for Jesus.
The event was slated as a kick off to the National Day of Prayer to be held Thursday.
Although the National Day of Prayer will be recognized Thursday, the entire month of May is reserved for prayer for the country and the community.
“This is the time of year when we focus our prayers specifically for the state of our nation and our community leaders,” said Suzie Langohr event planner.
Sponsored by the Whitley County National Day of Prayer Committee, a breakfast at Grace Lutheran Church, Columbia City, will be served Thursday at 7 a.m.
The meal is complimentary, however, the committee is asking for those planning on attending to contact Langohr so that preparations may be made.
