COLUMBIA CITY — Little Turtle Elementary School teachers and administrators are working every day to fulfill the building’s mission statement.
That statement is one the faculty hopes each student embraces, “I am here to learn.”
Learning is aided for the students by Quality Circles, which are groups of teachers who work together within specializations. Academic quality groups include such areas as literacy and math.
“All quality circles will support the school’s goals,” said Little Turtle Principal Tammy Weimer.
Some of the goals include having 90 percent of students pass the math and the English/language arts portions of the ISTEP+ test.
In that light, Weimer was pleased to share success with those tests.
“ISTEP+ is consistently above the state average at Little Turtle,” she said.
