COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Republicans gathered Saturday to hear Indiana lawmakers’ recap on this year’s legislative session.
Indiana Representatives Kathy Heuer and David Ober joined with Indiana Senator Jim Banks to share what bills had been passed and what effect that might have on the local level.
Although there were numerous wins the trio was able to tally, several issues brought on some heated discussion and concern for those at the breakfast.
As part of the legislative session, a bill was passed that no longer required ordinances, that are new or that had been amended, to be published in newspapers.
Brochures and online publications can take the place of newsprint when informing the general public of such ordinance changes or additions.
