LAPORTE — Travelers in the western part of Indiana will experience detours on U.S. 30 this week. Construction began on the highway in Starke County Monday.
Travelers going west will be detoured by driving north on Ind. 39, taking U.S. 6 west, then returning south on U.S. 421, where they will intersect with U.S. 30 once more. Indiana Department of Transportation officials indicate construction will continue until Friday of this week.
COLUMBIA CITY — Starting June 17 at 7 a.m., Frontage Road, Columbia City, will be closed at the intersection of Ind. 109. According to Columbia City Municipal Water Utility, there will be no right turn allowed onto Frontage Road from Ind. 109.
No vehicles will be allowed to exit from Frontage Road onto Ind. 109.
All traffic will be diverted for access to Frontage Road off of Ind. 9.
The closure is scheduled for two days, in order to allow for a water main installation
