Buanita J. Juillerat, 76, of Elkhart, passed away at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Center for Hospice Care of Elkhart.
She was born April 24, 1937, in Churubusco, to Joseph and Mildred (Cripe) Brumbaugh.
She married Russell Juillerat Jan. 5, 1960, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He preceded her in death on March, 15, 1989.
Surviving relatives include her four children, Jeff Juillerat of Bristol, Lisa (Michael) Stees of Sedalia, Mo., David (Tracy) Juillerat, and Amy (David) Stine of Elkhart; nine grandchildren; a brother, Robert Brumbaugh of Columbia City and sister, Kay Russ of Norwick, Conn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Doris Keller and brother, Paul Brumbaugh.
Buanita was a graduate of South Whitley High School and attended Elkhart Business School.
She was a member of Starlight Chapter #181, Order of the Beauceant, and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She babysat many children over the over the years and fondly remembered them all as her kids.
For a short time, she owned and operated Bristol Frozen Yogurt. She retired from Martin’s Supermarkets.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, genealogy, gardening, crocheting, and sewing. She also baked the best cream puffs in the world, which cause many disagreements about who got the last one.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Rice Cemetery’s Chapel of Peace. Her body will be cremated, as Buanita wished.
Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home of Elkhart.
