COLUMBIA CITY — According to Columbia City Park Director Mark Green, if the July 3 fireworks at Morsches seemed smaller — it’s because they were.
Green said part of the fireworks budget will be used for the fall festival, which will be returning to the city this year.
In 2012, the city held the Whitley County Fall Festival in September. This was an opportunity for citizens to see a fireworks display and enjoy other activities at Morsches Park. There were no Independence Day fireworks in 2012 due to drought conditions.
“Last year, we decided this was something we wanted,” said Mayor Ryan Daniel. “We got a significant positive response (from citizens).”
