COLUMBIA CITY — Kris Bair and his wife, Missy, have both been involved in rescuing people for more than 20 years — both in their jobs and together.
Kris has been with Smith Township’s Fire Department for 23 years. Missy has been a medic for 20 years and is also a registered nurse.
Kris vividly recalls the couple working together to save someone’s life.
“It was a Saturday night and I got a call for a full arrest (no heartbeat and not breathing),” Kris said. “My wife came with me.
“When we first arrived, the patient was in full arrest.”
Missy started CPR while Kris and a police officer started hooking up an automated external defibrillator (AED).
