COLUMBIA CITY — As clean up begins at Whitley County’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles, police are continuing to investigate the motive behind the man who drove a stolen car into the side of the building.
Danny Rose, 20, remains in custody at the Whitley County Jail with additional charges added and his bond raised Tuesday morning.
According to a press release by the Columbia City Police Department Tuesday morning, police were initially tipped off to Monday night’s events when a vehicle, believed to belong to his ex-girlfriend, was reported stolen.
Officers arrived at the victim’s home on Countryside Drive, and were told that Rose was suicidal and possibly in possession of a handgun.
On his own Facebook page, Rose posted a status saying, “Sorry for the things I am about to do. Love you all.”
The Facebook post was at 10:54 p.m., minutes before a police pursuit that began at County Road 400 North and ended 40 feet inside the BMV building on Countryside Drive.
