CHURUBUSCO — Numerous would-be musicians dream of forming a band that will become the next sensation on the music scene. When Taylor Fredricks started playing guitar, his dream was much the same.
Although his partnership with some small-town musicians was unexpected, Fredricks and three Churubusco natives came together to form the Taylor Fredricks Band.
Adding one last member, the band is now made up of Fredricks on vocals and guitar; Dylan Jones, of Churubusco, on drums; Harrison Sade, of Churubusco, on guitar and vocals; Travis Kreager, of Churubusco, on keys and Brandon Beer on bass and vocals.
The Taylor Fredricks Band, based out of Fort Wayne, started off as Fredricks in a solo project. He started playing at the age of nine and was performing at local coffee shops by age of 13. In the beginning, Fredricks performed Christian music, but tired of songs based around one particular subject. Wanting to write songs about his life, he branched out and started developing a new style.
After being signed to DMI Entertainment Group in February of 2010, Fredricks was in need of a band to back him musically if he was going to be playing larger shows.
“We went through some changes in members, but what we ended up with is the best configuration of talent,” Fredricks said. “I started out as a solo act, but changed and added the band, which has taken the music to the next level.”
