COLUMBIA CITY — Heavy winds in a quick storm left extensive damage at a local golf course.
Crooked Lake Golf Course had several branches down, along with one tree, after a storm blew through Wednesday evening.
Even more miraculous, according to course owner Bill Schumaker, is that no one was injured.
“The worst part was that we had guys on the course in a cart have a top of a tree fall on them while they were in the cart,” he said. “The cart was totaled, but they were fine.”
Schumaker said he could not believe the men survived.
“We were actually very fortunate,” he said. “How they didn’t get killed — I don’t know, and had they been sitting a couple of feet further to the east, they might have.”
