ROCHESTER — Whitko’s boys tennis team lost to TRC-rival Rochester Tuesday.
The Zebras won 3-2.
Whitko picked up wins in No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Tyler Baugher got a victory for the Wildcats at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Blake Castle earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-5.
Cole Bechtold fell in three sets at No. 3 singles. The No. 1 doubles pair of Alex Robbins and Bailey Platt lost in straight sets, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Alex Bechtold and Reed Brace.
In JV action, Nic Rose of Whitko fell in straight sets.
The Wildcats now have a record of 1-5. Whitko will be at Manchester Thursday at 5 p.m.
ANDREWS — Whitko’s girls golf team lost to Southwood Tuesday at Etna Acres Golf Club.
Southwood won by a final of 180-214.
April Bishop had the top score for Whitko with a 48. Abby Houlihan of Southwood was the meet medalist with a score of 40.
Samantha Shell of Whitko carded a 53 for the next top Lady Wildcat score. Claire Reiff shot 56, and Kennedy Krull and Elizabeth Gensch each had 57. Kirsten Crawford rounded out Whitko’s scoring at 59.
The Lady Wildcats will next compete today at West Noble against the Lady Chargers and Wawasee at 4:30 p.m.
WATERLOO — Columbia City’s boys soccer team dropped a contest to DeKalb Tuesday.
The Barons beat the Eagles 16-0. DeKalb got nine goals in the first half and seven in the second.
Columbia City next plays Monday at home against New Haven at 5 p.m.
COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s girls soccer team fell at home to visiting DeKalb Tuesday.
The Lady Barons beat the Lady Eagles, 12-0.
Columbia City will be back at home Thursday to host Bishop Luers at 5 p.m.
ALBION — Churubusco’s volleyball team soared to victory over Central Noble Tuesday.
‘Busco got the win in four sets, 25-21, 28-26, 20-25 and 26-24.
The Lady Eagles were led in kills by Alicia Farner, who had 14. Farner was also the leader in aces with two and block leader with two.
Danielle Pippenger paced Churubusco in digs with 16. Lacey Pulley was the assists leader with 23.
