COLUMBIA CITY — Activities and entertainment are scheduled for the Whitley County Fall Festival at Morsches Park Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m.
“This is event is full of family fun,” Mark Green, Columbia City Parks Department director. “No matter what your age, there is something for everyone this year.”
Launching the festival will be a 5K Pumpkin Run at 1 p.m., hosted by Parkview Whitley Hospital and a cornhole tournament at the Whitley County YMCA.
Green said last year’s event, in its inaugural year, was a starting point for what is now an annual event.
“Last year we had the festival in order to have something in place of the fourth of July cancellations,” Green said. “The fall event was a success even with the bad weather. People came out to support it and it made sense to have it again.”
With this year’s event, Green said there are some changes. One shift festival goers will notice is the fireworks display to go off approximately 9 p.m.
