LARWILL — A community health fair is slated for Saturday at Whitko Middle School from 8 a.m. to noon.
Sara St. Clair, Whitko Community School Corporation nurse, is coordinating the event, and said the fair is intended to take a “fun” approach to health.
“We wanted to do something to give parents a way to meet their health needs,” St. Clair said. “The fair will put information in their hands about preventative care as well as present health care concerns, and it’s all under one roof.”
More than 40 health care vendors will be set up to offer aid in social, mental and physical care.
“There are several vendors that will have interactive booths,” St. Clair said. “We’ve encouraged the vendors to make each station something families can step into and become engaged in learning.”
Some of the services that will be available include: lab tests, blood pressure screenings, bone density tests, BMI testing, and more.
Fair-goers will have the chance to talk to representatives about smoking cessation, bike and fire safety, car-seat safety and other diet and exercise professionals.
