TERRE HAUTE — Columbia City senior Samantha Roush ended her cross country career with a 44th-place finish at the state meet at Lavern Gibson Championship Course Saturday.
Roush clocked a time of 19:10.8, which was a pace of 6:10 per mile.
Kelcy Welch of Carmel came in first with a time of 17:53.9.
For Roush, it was the fourth time in her career at the state meet, as she made it all four years in high school.
Her best finish was when she came in seventh two years ago as a sophomore.
Columbia City Head Cross Country Coach Bob Fahl said Roush had a solid race Saturday.
“She ran hard the entire race and showed great heart and determination throughout,” he said.
There were 208 total runners in the girls race.
“Congratulations to Samantha Roush,” Fahl said.
