COLUMBIA CITY— Whitley County Consolidated Schools’ Board of Trustees was informed of the planned calendar for the 2014-15 school year Monday.
Columbia City High School Principal Jennifer Reiff told the board high school graduation would be set for June 5, 2015. She said though the date is nearly two years away, people have already begun asking her and Superintendent Dr. Pat O’Connor when the event will be held.
Graduation comes 14 days after the planned last day of school, which is May 22, 2015.
Days will be added to the end of the calendar year after May 22 in the event of school closure due to weather or other reasons.
“Everyone should know we will add days for cancellations,” O’Connor said.
Reiff said that if there were so many cancellations that school ran until graduation June 5, the district would still keep the same graduation date.
