CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s girls basketball team used strong second and fourth quarters to land a 69-46 win over Eastside Friday night.
After facing a 16-11 deficit at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Eagles came back to score 23 points in the second, while holding Eastside to four.
Churubusco used a scoring attack from six different players in the second quarter to steal the lead — and never give it back.
The third quarter was a more evenly-played game, as Eastside outscored ’Busco 13-12. The Lady Eagles had five different players each score a field goal in the quarter, along with a free throw apiece from Brooke Yarnelle and Jazlyn Needler. The Lady Eagles had another dominating quar er to finish the game with 23 points to Eastside’s 13.
