Kendallville — The Columbia City Boys’ Basketball team traveled to Kendallville to open the Northeast Hoosier Conference season by taking on the East Noble Knights.
The Eagles put on a first half shooting clinic hitting 75 percent of their field goal attempts including eight shots from behind the three-point arc building a 17 point lead on their way to a 61-50 win.
The game started out as a battle behind the arc with Columbia City’s Mason Coverstone matched up against East Noble’s Brandon Nichols and Michael Sharp.
Coverstone was more than up to the task as the Eagle junior hit his first five shots, including four threes before finally missing. Coverstone posted 14 first quarter points.
