Earl B. Keiser, 86, of Whitley County, died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at Parkview Oaks where he had been a resident since December 2012.
He was born Oct. 7, 1927, in Fort Wayne, a son of Benjamin and Mable (Hepner) Keiser. His formative years were spent in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Elmhurst High School.
In 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1948.
In 1950 he was united in marriage to Marilyn Barrand. They made their home in Fort Wayne until 1968 when they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah.
They returned to Indiana in 1970 making their home in Jefferson Township, Whitley County. Mrs. Keiser died in December 1971.
On Oct. 21, 1972, he was united in marriage to Barbara R. (Corbat) Clauser.
He was employed at Pennsylvania Railroad, Philo Farnsworth while in Salt Lake City and retired in 1989 from I.T.T. with 33 years of service.
His memberships included Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church and American Legion.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barb; two children, Melissa (Gary) Green of Columbia City and Glen Keiser of Big Lake; two grandchildren, Ashley Little and Nathan Green; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Little and Ami James Little; and a sister, Helen Scheele of Fort Wayne.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Abigail Little and two sisters, Evelyn Bierbaum and Dorothy Myers.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The burial will be in South Park Annex Cemetery.
