The holiday weekend proved to be busy and challenging for CCHS’ baseball team, dropping a trio of games to Fort Wayne Northrop and Dwenger.
The squad started the stretch Friday night with a home loss, 7-3, against Fort Wayne Northrop. This game also was a chance to formally recognize the nine seniors, with many of them playing together since they all began in Little League.
The Eagles’ entire senior line-up came out strong with Justin Stout on the mound and runs in both the bottom of the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead. However, the top of the third would prove difficult for the Eagles.
The Bruins would score six runs, including a three-run homer by Colin Brockhouse. The third inning is when the Eagles and the Bruins scored their last runs of the game.
