COLUMBIA CITY — A Columbia City man who was found bloodied and incoherent, walking along Main Street in Columbia City Tuesday is in serious condition at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Ralph Anderson, 78, was taken to Parkview Whitley Hospital before being transferred to Fort Wayne where he was listed in serious condition this morning.
According to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department, a 911 call came in at 1:42 p.m. Tuesday of a man with “altered levels of consciousness.”
Columbia City resident Connie Rathke found Anderson walking on the sidewalk between Star Tire & Automotive and Trier Ford on Main Street.
She brought Anderson to Star Tire & Automotive where the 911 call was made.
“I was really concerned about him,” she said today.
“He was seen walking and the left side of his face was pretty bloodied up and he didn’t act like he knew who he was or where he was,” said Tom Peters of Star Tire & Automotive.
Peters said Anderson initially didn’t want to go to the hospital, but was later convinced to be taken to Parkview Whitley Hospital.
A spokesperson in the hospital’s emergency room said he was treated and transferred to Fort Wayne.
