SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko boys’ basketball leading scorer Logan Irwin has gone all season known as a leading scorer in northern Indiana. All-Star selection committees recognized that when Irwin was named a North Junior All-Star.
Irwin was one of six players across northern Indiana selected to play the senior all-stars on June 6 at a to-be-announced site.
Irwin became Whitko’s all-time leading scorer this season with 1,556 points and is on pace to become a 2,000-point scorer upon graduation.
There are currently only 39 2,000-point scorers in state history. Irwin is also Whitko’s all-time leader in free throws made with 483 and steals with 139. Irwin has 307 career assists and needs 10 more to become the assist leader.
Irwin averaged 25.1 points on 49 percent shooting. Irwin also averaged five rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this past season.
