COLUMBIA CITY — Thea K. Fry, 63, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:37 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 8, 1948 in Allen County, she was the daughter of Jasper G. Styles and Theadora G. (Koutras) Harmon.
She lived in Allen County moving, to Whitley County in 1981. She graduated from South Side High School, Fort Wayne with the Class of 1966.
On August 23, 1974, she married David L. Fry in Fort Wayne. She worked at Fort Wayne Community Schools and Whitley County Consolidated Schools as a bus driver with 15 years of service.
She was a member of Big Lake Church of God, Nimble Thimble Quilters, Albion, Spinning Spools Quilters, Auburn and Whitley County Country Quilters where she served as past secretary.
Survivors include her husband, David L. Fry of Columbia City; children, Jasper S. Fry of Columbia City, David D. (Janice) Fry of Larwill, Shannon S. Brockman of Columbia City, David D. Fry “Mefford” of Columbia City, Susanne W. Fruman of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; mother, Theadora G. Harmon of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jasper G. Styles and step-father, E.H. Harmon.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday with calling one hour prior at Big Lake Church of God, 6955 SR 109, Columbia City with Pastor Doug McVay officiating.
