HUNTERTOWN — Herbert K. Sutton, 86, of rural Huntertown died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at the family residence in Butler Township. He had been in failing health for the past month.
Mr. Sutton was born in Fort Wayne Nov. 7, 1924, to Charles and Mary (Rupley) Sutton.
On March 20, 1948 he was married in Churubusco to Mary E. Geiger.
Surviving relatives include his wife Mary; a son Dennis Sutton of LaOtto; three daughters, Vickie Nodine, Nancy Chittenden, and Peggy Tarlton, Jr., all of Garrett; a brother Dale Freeman of Huntertown; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ilene Fulk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Larry Smith, pastor of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, or one hour prior to the service Friday morning.
Interment will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery, south of Garrett.
