SOUTH WHITLEY – South Whitley resident Jorell Tucker has announced his candidacy for Whitley County Council At-Large.
“I am excited to bring a fresh perspective to the council and advocate for continued economic development and cost savings for the taxpayers of Whitley County,” Tucker said.
Tucker has been the director of the Whitley County Solid Waste District since 2006, where he oversees the operations of the county’s recycling and conservation programs.
Tucker has been an active member of the community where he has served as Republican Party chairman for the Town of South Whitley Election and Town Election Board, vice president of Whitko Community School Board, former Whitley County Chamber of Commerce board member, president of Whitko Community Schools Board of Finance, member of Larwill Due Guard Masonic Lodge, and is a Republican precinct committeeman.
