COLUMBIA CITY — Having reviewed proposed revisions from NEOLA, a consulting firm which provides school districts with a complete service for developing and updating board bylaws and policies, the committee in charge of reviewing those for Whitley County Consolidated Schools made its final recommendation to the school board, which approved the final adoption at last week’s board meeting.
NEOLA also deals with administrative guidelines, forms, staff handbooks and student/parent handbooks in both electronic and printed format.
The first policy revision emphasizes requirements of the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) regarding training for students about online behavior, safety and security. The policy provides options for schools to address the access and use of social media through the school’s network.
