LARWILL — Whitley County police are on the lookout for possibly two suspects who fled a burning car near Larwill Friday afternoon in what investigators say was a mobile meth lab fire.
A call came in to Whitley County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers at 2:07 p.m. Friday reporting a car fire.
Police arriving on the scene found remnants of a “one-pot” methamphetamine lab along Ind. 5 just a few yards from Old Trail Road west of Larwill.
A large area of grass was burned around the T intersection and a dark colored, late model sedan was burned and parked in the ditch on the north side of Old Trail Road about a half mile from the intersection.
Police said they have reason believe there was more than one suspect and added they think there could be injuries as a result of the fire.
Richland Township firefighters joined WCSD personnel at the scene and traffic was diverted from the section of Old Trail Road between Ind. 5 and Binkley Road.
