COLUMBIA CITY — Logan S. Kirk, 19, of Avilla, and Dallas M. Jones, 20, of Churubusco, both appeared in circuit court on methamphetamine charges Monday.
According to the Whitley County Drug Task Force, the two-week long investigation of stolen property and drug activity led officers to a residence on Staunton Drive in Churubusco.
According to WCSD Chief Deputy Marc Gatton, two males were in or near a vehicle parked on the street, preparing their equipment and chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine.
Both men were charged with dealing in methamphetamine, class B felony, possession of chemical reagents or precursors with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, a class D felony and possession of paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
Additionally, Jones was charged with maintaining a common nuisance, a class D felony, and possession of synthetic marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.
Kirk was also charged with visiting a common nuisance.
According to Gatton, items found inside the vehicle were seized and processed by the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Lap Team.
Both men will remain in the Whitley County Jail on bond, with the order to appear back in court Aug. 20 for a pre-trial conference.
