COLUMBIA CITY — According to the Election Supervisor Jessica Hockemeyer, absentee voting hours will soon be available to registered voters at the courthouse.
“There is in office voting, voting by mail and a traveling board,” said Hockemeyer.
The hours for absentee voting at the clerk’s office, located in the courthouse at Room 18 on the second floor, are Oct. 9-12 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Oct. 15 to Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Oct. 13 and 20 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Oct. 27 and Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
To vote by mail, forms can be found at the clerk’s office. Forms will be processed and confirmed before a ballot is sent in the mail. Absentee applications will be received until Oct. 29 by 11:59 p.m.
For a traveling board, Hockemeyer said a team will visit the voter’s home to help them the Saturday before the election.
Those who wish to vote must be a registered voter with a government issued photo ID.
