COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City just scored new resources for its parks.
The department, through its partnership with Pepsi Co., now has two new scoreboards for baseball and softball fields. The boards were provided by Pepsi as part of an agreement between the soft drink company and the department.
One of the new scoreboards will be installed at Field One at Morsches Park, which is the Columbia City High School varsity softball team’s field. The other will go to a new diamond that is being built out at DeVol Field.
Going forward, Green expects that the department will still pursue the wireless operation with each new board. With Pepsi now caught up, new scoreboards should come every two years.
