COLUMBIA CITY — Sara Goff’s trial in Whitley County Superior Court has been set for a different date.
Goff was set to appear in court for a jury trial today, Jan. 23 and tomorrow, Jan. 24. The defense council filed the motion to continue, and a new date for the trial has not been filed yet.
Goff was arrested in September 2011 for theft, a Class D felony.
At that time, she had been serving as Whitley County Chamber of Commerce president.
According to case reports, Goff was accused of cashing approximately $2,100 in “chamber bucks” between Dec. 1, 2010 and Sept. 13, 2011.
