COLUMBIA CITY — A bridge in Columbia City could one day have a new name.
State Sen. Jim Banks proposed legislation to name the Ind. 9 bridge in Columbia City between West Spencer and Hanna Streets after former State Sen. Gary P. Dillon.
“I introduced the legislation a couple of years ago and introduced it again this time,” Banks said.
Banks did not anticipate the legislation passing this year, but said it had to get started on the process.
“I would love to surprise him with it,” Banks said of Dillon.
Dillon was elected to the House of Representatives in 1998 and served a total of 12 years in the Indiana General Assembly.
