COLUMBIA CITY — Senior night is the final home swimming meet of the season and a tune-up for the upcoming IHSAA Sectional.
It all came together for the Eagles Thursday night, providing the backdrop for a 117-42 win for Columbia City’s boys swim team over the visiting Wabash Apaches.
The Eagles took first in 10-of-11 events, sweeping the first three places in both the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard butterfly race.
The Eagles will head into the Warsaw IHSAA Sectional next week.
“I think the boys are ready,” said Columbia City head coach Kristen Swonger.
“We are working hard and are starting to taper. The lineup we swam tonight is the same that we will swim in sectional. We are trying to get them prepared. In the sectional we will have a little more time in between events and if the boys can keep it up, I think we can get a boy into the finals in each event.”
